How many guns do you need to take to the range? ›

How many firearms can I bring? We recommend no more than 2-3 rifles. As for handguns, it is recommended that you bring no more than that which can fit inside a large range bag.

Currently, Texas law still doesn't permit someone with a felony conviction to take their gun off their property. So, you can't take it to a firing range unless you own the firing range and it sits on your home property.

The amount of ammunition you shoot will depend on your skill level and the ammo available to you. I like to shoot at least 50 rounds of handgun ammo and 60 rounds of rifle ammo when at the range. But that number can be cut in half if I'm really trying to conserve ammunition.

Having a couple of spare magazines is just a smart thing to do. I mean, after all, you bothered to strap a handgun onto your side or stuffed one into your pants, so why not also bring reloading options? Bottom line: one in the gun, two spares on our person is best. Or at least one spare on our person, minimum.

General Range Rules. All shooters must be US citizens or permanent residents with accompanying driver's licenses or green cards. Visitors from out of the country may only shoot firearm experiences on the range.
