At a time when other manufacturers seem to be winding down their superbike efforts, Ducati are forging ahead with trickle-down innovations from MotoGP like their clever new Ducati Vehicle Observer system which brings next-level refinement to their already class-leading electronic assists. They've also been bold enough to sacrifice the signature single-sided swingarm after nearly 30 years, all in the name of performance. This weekV-Strom hit by recallSuzuki V-Strom 800DE owners in the UK are being told to stop riding them immediately if they still have the original set of tyres fitted. A defect with the Dunlop Trailmax Mixtour OE rear tyre means that a recall has been issued, potentially affecting 304 bikes in the UK.“Customer safety and satisfaction is Suzuki GB's utmost priority,” a statement from the importer read. “Owners of affected units will be contacted from today and directed to cease riding activity until replacement tyres have been fitted by an authorised Suzuki dealership.”If you own a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE and you've already replaced the tyres, Suzuki say they will reimburse you for the cost of the tyres and the fitting. The recall has also meant pausing any new registrations while the issue is addressed and…1 min
This weekRed revolutionTOP STORYDucati have upped the superbike stakes once again, revealing the next evolution of the Panigale V4 range at their biennial World Ducati Week festival in Misano. The seventh generation of sportsbike to use the Panigale name, the new models stand out thanks to their revised styling and swingarm – with the fresh look said to combine the modern aero ethos (reducing drag by 4%) with the looks of the 916 and 1098 V-twins.Gone is the single-sided swingarm, a staple of big Ducati superbikes since 2007. It's now been replaced with a shell-cast aluminium double-sided option featuring large cut outs to expose the 17in rear wheel, which Ducati claim reduces lateral stiffness by 37% to improve traction and feel as riders get on the gas. It also helps reduce rear-end weight…4 min
This weekRACE REACTIONMCN caught up with BSB star Glenn Irwin, following his outing in the Race of Champions (see page 8) event at this year's World Ducati Week to get the racer's opinion on the newly launched Panigale V4.“The bike is definitely more forgiving now and it turns in incredibly well too,” said Irwin, whose regular ride is the Hager PBM Ducati V4 R in British Superbikes. “The chassis is much more compliant and that's made a big difference to the edge grip. It's an area we've always wanted to improve and now it's there.“I wouldn't say it was a problem with the bike before, but it was the Panigale's main weakness and Ducati have fixed that with the new bike, but they haven't lost the strength because the drive grip is…1 min
