‘Tis the season for 47 new Christmas movies!
Hallmark Channel is celebrating 15 years of “Countdown to Christmas” with 31 new movies, while Hallmark Mystery will air nine new movies as part of “Miracles of Christmas.” The annual event kicks off on Oct. 18.
Additionally, seven new movies will debut as part of two franchises: “Christmas on Cherry Lane” fans will see three new movies to expand the family’s stories; and “Unwrapping Christmas” is a new, four-movie franchise following the holiday romances of four friends working at a store named All Wrapped Up.
This year’s lineup includes exciting reunions, like “Office Space” co-stars Diedrich Bader and Richard Riehle in “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story;” “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” stars Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick in “Holiday Mismatch;” “Pretty Little Liars” alums Tammin Sursok and Brant
Daugherty in “Trivia at St. Nick’s;” and former “When Calls the Heart” couple Erin Krakow and Daniel Lissing in “Santa Tell Me.”
In addition to the movies below, Hallmark will also roll out multiple new series.
“Finding Mr. Christmas,” hosted by Jonathan Bennett and judged by Melissa Peterman, is an eight-episode reality competition series that follows “10 promising Hallmark ‘hunks’ who live together and compete against one another for the lead role in an upcoming original holiday movie.” The winner will star opposite Jessica Lowndes in the original movie “Happy Howlidays,” premiering December 21 on
Hallmark Channel.
Plus, Wes Brown will host “Ready, Set, Glow!,” a three-episode unscripted series hosting holiday light shows all over the country. The series will debut on Dec. 12.
Meanwhile, on the recently launched Hallmark+ app, two new limited series will roll out.
On Oct. 31, Sarah Drew will lead “Mistletoe Murders,” a six-episode show based on the popular Audible original. The series follows a Christmas-themed gift shop owner whose friend is accused of murder. Per the logline, “she can’t help utilizing her sleuthing skills when her friend is accused of murder…or falling for local Detective Sam Wilner.”
“Holidazed,” a limited series following six families from different backgrounds all living on the same cul-de-sac” will feature eight episodes and kick off with its first two episodes on Nov. 14. Dennis Haysbert, John C. McGinley, Loretta Devine and Virginia Madsen star.
